Trump leading Biden by 4 points across key swing states: Polling

Former President Trump has a 4-point lead over President Biden in several battleground states, according to a new poll.

Biden won all six states in the 2020 election, but not by large margins.

The Bloomberg/Morning Consult poll also found that more voters in battleground states say the nation’s economy has “gotten better” under Trump.

About 51% of registered voters surveyed said the economy was stronger under the former president. Approximately 36% of voters said that things have gotten “better” under the Biden administration, and 13% said that they have been “about the same” under both administrations.

Meanwhile, many voters said they trusted Biden on issues related to climate change: About 47% of those surveyed said they trusted the incumbent president to address the climate crisis, compared with 34% for Trump. About 15% said they were unsure.

Voters will soon see Biden and Trump go head-to-head on policy issues, as the two men quickly agreed to hold two debates last week, with the first scheduled for late June. That’s going to happen. Currently, he has just over a month to prepare.

The Bloomberg/Morning Consult poll was conducted May 7-13 among 4,962 registered voters in seven battleground states. The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 1 percentage point.
