Recent polls show former President Trump leading President Biden in seven key battleground states.
of New Research The Times/SAY24 poll found Biden trailing Trump in key battleground states including Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The closest races were Michigan and Pennsylvania, according to the poll.
In Michigan, Trump received 42% of support compared to Biden’s 40%. In Pennsylvania, the former president received 43% of support compared to the incumbent’s 40%, the poll found.
About 4% of respondents in the Great Lakes State said they would vote for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., while 3% of respondents in the Keystone State said the same. In both states surveyed, 10% of respondents were undecided.
Trump held four-point leads in North Carolina, Georgia and Nevada. He led in both North Carolina and Georgia with 44 percent support, while Biden had 40 percent support in both states. In Nevada, the Republican candidate had 46 percent support, while Biden had 42 percent, the highest support of any state surveyed.
The survey also showed Trump receiving 43% support in Wisconsin, five points ahead of Biden’s 38%.
Trump’s biggest lead was in Arizona, where he won 44% of the vote to Biden’s 37%. Ten percent of Arizonans said they were undecided and 5% said they would vote for Kennedy, according to the poll.
The survey was conducted after the first presidential debate last month and before the weekend assassination attempt on Trump. Following Biden’s poor performance in the debate, many Democrats have expressed concern in recent weeks about whether Biden has the manpower to not only beat the former president in November, but also serve another term in office.
The November election is likely to be a close race between Trump and Biden, with Trump leading Biden by just 1.7 percentage points in the Hill/Decision Desk average of national polls.
According to the Times/SAY24 poll, Biden is trailing Trump in all seven states, but the Democratic Senate candidate is leading in battleground states including Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
The poll was conducted by YouGov among 1,000 people in each state except Arizona and Wisconsin, where only 900 people were surveyed, and 800 people in Nevada. The poll was conducted July 4-12 and has a margin of error of 3 to 5 percentage points in each state.
