Former President Trump Outperformed Vice President Harris By 2 points New Survey The Wall Street Journal.
A new poll conducted after Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race found the former president garnering 49 percent support among registered voters, while the vice president received 47 percent approval.
Ms. Harris significantly improved Biden’s approval rating in a Wall Street Journal poll earlier this month, which had her trailing Mr. Trump by six points. The poll came on the heels of Mr. Biden’s disastrous debate performance, which sparked calls for him to drop out of the race.
Biden withdrew last weekend after weeks of confusion within his party over whether to end his campaign, citing concerns about his age, his mental health and his ability to retake the White House in November.
The poll also found that Ms Harris’s favorability rating among registered voters has jumped 11 points to 46%, up from 35% earlier this month, compared with 47% for Mr Trump and 39% for Mr Biden.
After Biden suspended his campaign, Harris quickly secured several key endorsements within her party, a fundraising surge and enough delegate support to clinch the nomination.
The Wall Street Journal poll was conducted among 1,000 registered voters from July 23 to July 25, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points, according to a Wall Street Journal article about the poll.
