Trump Leads Kamala by 1; Swing States ‘Too Close to Call’

a wall street journal A poll released Friday found former President Donald Trump leading Vice President Kamala Harris by one point nationally. The battleground states are “too close to call,” but Harris has a slight advantage.

of journal reported:

Polls of the most contested states show Harris narrowly leading in Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin and Georgia on ballots offering independent and third-party candidates as options. It turned out that. Trump holds a narrow lead in Nevada, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. But with the exception of Trump's 5-point lead in Nevada, his lead is no greater than 2 percentage points, which is within the poll's margin of error as elsewhere.

Among the 4,200 voters in the battleground state, Trump's approval rating was 46%, while Harris' approval rating was 45%. The study found that the state races, and by extension the presidential election, were too close to call. If Harris wins in the states where she leads in the polls, she will win a slim majority in the Electoral College.

When it comes to the most important issue for voters when choosing a candidate, 10 points more likely to say Trump is better at handling the economy than Harris. Voters support President Trump by 16 points on their second biggest concern: immigration and border security.

Harris' path to victory journal In Sunbelt states like Arizona, large numbers of liberal voters are moving in from the Midwest and Northeast, suggesting that (along with international immigration) they are changing local politics.

Another notable aspect of the poll is that voters say the national economy is bad but the local economy is good.

Additionally, more voters describe Trump as “extreme” (48%) than Harris (38%). The bad news for Harris is that at this point in 2020, President Joe Biden leads northern industrial states by more than 5 percentage points. Harris is struggling there.

of journal The poll was followed by another NBC poll on Sunday that found Trump with a similar 1-point lead.
