Caroline Levitt to Resign as White House Press Secretary
President Donald Trump has announced that press secretary Caroline Levitt will step down at the end of this month. In a statement, he praised her contributions and discussed her future role within the political landscape.
According to Trump, Levitt’s choice to leave is largely motivated by her wish to prioritize her family and young children. He expressed strong support for her decision, highlighting her work as a key communications strategist and a trusted aide, as well as acknowledging her return to private life.
“Caroline Levitt, our incredible White House press secretary and one of my most trusted aides, will be leaving her position at the end of this month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family—a decision I completely understand and respect! Caroline will now be one of my top outside advisors and an influential voice within the Republican Party as we aim to defy history and earn a decisive victory in the midterm elections. Caroline is a true leader of the Republican Party. Her performance has been phenomenal since she took office, particularly during her historic re-election campaign in 2024. She is among the best White House press secretaries ever. Thank you, Caroline, well done!” President Trump stated on Truth Social.
While Levitt will conclude her official duties in the West Wing, she is expected to remain involved with the Trump administration as a senior outside advisor. In this new capacity, she will likely continue to hold significant sway within the Republican Party, contributing to strategic messaging and campaign strategies in preparation for the upcoming midterm elections.
Notable for being the youngest White House press secretary in U.S. history, Levitt has led the administration’s communications from the podium in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room.
