Trump’s Humor at the UN General Assembly
President Donald Trump is set to bring some humor to the UN General Assembly stage on Tuesday. He started by poking fun at the broken escalators within the UN building, as well as a malfunctioning teleprompter.
Standing on stage, he remarked, “Thank you so much, I’m very grateful,” then added with a laugh, “I don’t mind giving this speech without a teleprompter because the teleprompter isn’t working.”
He seemed to enjoy being able to speak more freely, saying, “I still feel so happy to be here with you… anyone who controls this teleprompter has a big problem,” followed by laughter.
Later, Trump expressed his disappointment with UN’s effectiveness in handling global conflicts. He claimed, “I never even received a call from the UN to end the seven wars, deal with leaders of these countries, and help them finalize the deal. All I got from the United Nations was an escalator that stopped in the middle halfway through.”
In a teasing tone, he said, “These are two things I got from the United Nations: bad escalators and bad teleprompters.”
Throughout his speech, Trump encouraged peace initiatives while warning European nations about the risks of illegal immigration. He also criticized the global climate agenda, referring to it as “fraud jobs.”
