Former President Donald Trump met with House Republicans at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, the first of an eventful day.
Media surrounded the venue, waiting for Trump to arrive for a heated private meeting with House Republicans.

A small number of protesters were also expected to attend.

If Trump had announced a visit to the Capitol Hill Club a few years ago, hundreds of young people (possibly paid to do so) would have protested outside.
Today the only people there are a couple of middle-aged weirdos and a guy in a bear costume.

The meeting came after Wednesday’s congressional baseball game, in which Republicans defeated Democrats 31-11. Team manager Rep. Roger Williams (R-Texas) presented Trump, who celebrated his 78th birthday on Friday, with the ball and bat used in the game. hill Report: The members also sang Happy Birthday to celebrate the 45th President’s birthday.
Trump also spoke about more serious policy issues, including pushing for exceptions for abortion and protecting women’s sports.
At a GOP leadership press conference after the meeting, House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik said Trump had been “warmly welcomed” by Republican lawmakers, adding: “We support his candidacy 100 percent.”

Stefanik said House Republicans “are ready to work on behalf of the American people to secure our border, achieve American energy independence, restore peace through strength, defend the integrity of our elections, and prevent the unlawful weaponization of our justice system.”
“It was an event that promoted unity, and I want to thank the President for answering questions from his colleagues today,” she added.
Trump also set On Thursday, he is scheduled to visit the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) to meet with Republican senators.
