President Donald J. Trump mentioned the Palisades fire, among other fires in the Los Angeles area, near the beginning of his second inaugural address Monday in the Capitol Rotunda in Washington, D.C.
playing cards said:
As the wonderful people of North Carolina who have been treated so poorly recently have shown, our country is unable to provide basic services in emergencies. And other states still suffering from hurricanes that occurred months ago. Or, more recently, in Los Angeles, we see fires from weeks ago still burning tragically without any protection. They are rampaging through homes and communities, affecting even the wealthiest and most powerful people in our country, some of whom are sitting here right now. They no longer have a home. That's interesting.
However, we cannot allow this to happen. No one can do anything about it. That will change. Our public health system performs poorly during disasters, yet we spend more money on it than any other country in the world. And we have an education system that teaches children to be ashamed of themselves and, in many cases, to hate our country, despite the love we desperately try to give them. I am. All of this changes starting today and will change soon.
President Trump is scheduled to visit the Pacific Palisades on Friday on his first voyage as the 47th president. Several Breitbart News employees were affected, and one senior Breitbart executive was left homeless in the apocalyptic fire.
