Due to subzero temperatures, President Trump announced that the swearing-in ceremony would be held indoors, making it the first such ceremony since President Ronald Reagan's second term in 1985.

“Washington, DC's weather forecast calls for severe, record-low temperatures, in part due to wind chill. An arctic blast is sweeping the nation. I don’t want to see anyone hurt or injured,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

“Therefore, in addition to prayers and other speeches, I have ordered that the inaugural address be delivered in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda, as used by President Ronald Reagan in 1985, also due to very cold weather.” he continued.

The Trump family was aboard a U.S. military C-32 aircraft sent by President Joe Biden on a flight dubbed “Special Air Mission 47.”

Dozens of Americans celebrating the festival gathered to greet the president-elect's motorcade, chanting “America, America!”

Trump reportedly held a celebration at the Trump National Golf Course on Saturday night, with notable guests including Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg in attendance.

The event featured Elvis Presley impersonator Leo Days performing for President Trump and first lady Melania Trump before a reception attended by about 500 people.

President Trump and first lady Melania Trump are scheduled to attend three official balls during the inauguration, and several events are planned over the weekend featuring numerous musical artists celebrating Trump's inauguration.

President Trump will begin his inauguration day by attending a service at St. John's Episcopal Church, then have the traditional tea with outgoing President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden at the White House.
