Donald Trump called Robert De Niro a “freak” early Wednesday and mocked his participation in a Biden campaign press conference outside the Manhattan courthouse where the former president’s trial is taking place.
“I didn’t realize how small former actor Robert De Niro was, both mentally and physically,” Trump denounced. Authentic Social Posts.
“Today, outside the courthouse, De Niro, who suffers from an incurable disease known in medical circles as Trump Derangement Syndrome, encountered a force far more powerful than the radical left: MAGA,” the former president said.
“Robert looked so pathetic and sad whose films, artistry and brand have declined significantly since entering politics at the behest of the unscrupulous Joe Biden. Where is Joe DiMaggio!!!” the post continued.
De Niro, 80, made his prepared remarks at a surprise Biden campaign news conference on Tuesday afternoon, the same day that Trump’s lawyers were making closing arguments in the former president’s hush-money trial.
“I’m not trying to scare people. No, wait, maybe I am,” De Niro told the microphone, adding, “If Trump is back in the White House, goodbye to these freedoms that we take for granted.”
“And the election. Forget it. It’s over. It’s over. If he gets elected, I can tell you right now: He will never quit. He will never quit. You know that. He will never quit.”
But during a press conference where the “Goodfellas” actor called the 77-year-old Trump a “clown,” a “filthy real estate agent” and a “tyrant,” the press conference descended into chaos as supporters of the former president tried to drown out the actor with anti-Biden and anti-De Niro slogans.
“You’re a f**king moron,” De Niro yelled at one protester who accused him of being “an actor paid for the Democratic National Committee” and suggested the actor had unsavory ties to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
After the event, Caroline Leavitt, national spokesperson for Trump 2024, said that “actors like Robert De Niro” have “no understanding of the real issues facing people in this city and across this country.”
