Trump Must Remind Americans How Much Better Off They Were Under His Leadership

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, said during a television appearance that former President Donald Trump should remind Americans how blessed they were under his leadership. Breitbart News Saturday.

Moderator Matthew Boyle pointed out that Vice President Kamala Harris failed to answer a very basic question during Tuesday night's debate about whether Americans are happier now than they were four years ago.

“I think the best part of the debate was what you just said,” Jordan said. “Frankly, it was her first answer, she didn't answer the question, and then it really highlighted the fact that President Trump's final statement was, 'Where were you four years ago? Where are you now?' That, in my judgment, is the crux of the debate.”

“And the American people understand that,” he said, acknowledging that Harris has the support of the media.

But, he added, “They can't fact-check her. They can fact-check the president,” but “that doesn't change the facts.”

“The issues remain the same. The American people's perspective remains the same. I always say this: Four years ago, under President Trump, we had a secure border. Today we don't have a border. Under President Trump, gas was $2. Today it's $4. Under President Trump, we had safe streets. … Now we have record crime. And under President Trump, prices were stable. And now we have record inflation. Which do you prefer?” he asked.

“That's something you rarely get in American politics,” he said, explaining the stark contrast between the Trump administration and the Biden-Harris administration.

“Who was better? I think if you sit down and look at the issues, look at the facts and the truth, everyone will realise it was much better under President Trump. That's all you need to highlight over the next 50 days. And when you do, I think he's going to win,” Jordan predicted.

When asked what advice he would give to Trump as Election Day approaches, Jordan said it's important to “remind the American people of what it was like when he was president.”

“Today, you can't afford to take your family out to dinner on a Friday night, a Saturday night. I'd love to take them out … I mean, it's incredibly expensive. Remember back then, Russia didn't invade Ukraine when he was president, Hamas and Hezbollah didn't attack our best friend Israel when he was president,” he said, emphasizing the importance of having a leader who projects “strength” rather than “weakness” in the Biden-Harris administration.

“Deep down, the American people [that] Jordan added, “President Trump has their best interests in mind and he's going to fight for them.”
