Trump must take immediate action to support Iran's freedom fighters

Iran appears to be “looking at freedom like never before.” President Trump shared this sentiment on Saturday, suggesting that if America truly wants to help, decisive action is necessary before time runs out.

The push to overthrow Iran’s oppressors is gaining momentum as widespread protests enter their third week. These protests are intensifying, even in the face of a deadly crackdown from authorities.

While the ruling class has made tough statements regarding potential U.S. intervention, the reality is that their resources may be overestimated. Following last year’s successful removal of the Ayatollah’s nuclear program by U.S. and Israeli forces, Iran’s response was notably limited, and affiliates like Hamas and Hezbollah seem weaker than before.

Recent U.S. actions against ISIS in Syria highlight that military strength is present in the region. The Pentagon’s planning in response to Trump’s statements serves as a warning to Iran regarding their stringent regulations.

Tragically, the protest death toll has now reached nearly 500, with around 10,000 individuals arrested, many of whom are unlikely to be released given the regime’s historical patterns.

The President has repeatedly expressed his commitment to supporting the resistance, reiterating warnings from Senator Lindsey Graham about the Iranian government’s “atrocities” against its citizens not going unnoticed.

The regime seems uncertain about whether its security forces will carry out extreme orders for a brutal crackdown.

In a troubling move, they have imported foreign forces, such as Iraqi militias and Hezbollah, to assist with suppression efforts, raising concerns about potential backlash, like a military coup against the Islamist government.

It seems the administration is already cautious about the protesters, likely due to unpredictability surrounding Trump’s proposed actions.

A single impactful strike could incite chaos among the ruling elite, possibly prompting “supreme leader” Ali Khamenei to seek refuge in Moscow. Now is the time for the U.S. to take definitive steps, including the removal of key leaders and cyberattacks against the Revolutionary Guards and other significant figures within the regime.

While nothing is guaranteed, the motto “fortune favors the brave” resonates here. Mr. President, don’t just be prepared; it’s time to actively support the forces seeking freedom in Iran now.
