Former President Donald Trump showed true heroism following the assassination attempt on him.
Not only did he stand up, raise his fist and reach out to his supporters after a bullet grazed his ear, urging them to keep fighting, but he is also said to have already completely changed his speech for the 2024 Republican National Convention to focus on unity rather than political criticism.
Glenn Beck He is thoroughly impressed and has an idea of what Trump wants to convey to the nation in his speech.
“I hope the president will say publicly, ‘We stand here today because America is strong. Someone tried to kill me a few days ago, and by the grace of God the bullet only grazed me,'” Glenn said.
“When a bullet grazes the side of your head, you have two choices: revenge or unity. And our country is divided. Trust is low among our neighbors, in the media, everywhere,” he continues.
Although Glenn understands exactly what Trump was trying to say, he also thinks it’s necessary to address his use of the word “fight” as he shouted and pumped his fist.
“When I say ‘fight’, I mean the little person needs to stand up, not be afraid, let their voice be heard. We need to fight, but not with violence. We fight with words, we fight in the streets with words and actions,” he explains.
“Let’s show the world what it means to be an American,” he continues. “Every voice matters. Every citizen counts. Let’s uphold the principles of the Bill of Rights. Let’s defend the truth with integrity and courage. Let’s forgive others without compromising our values.”
Glenn left a farewell message for Trump.
“It’s important for all of us today to reach out to someone, a friend, who we disagree with, just to say, ‘How are you feeling today? Yes, I know one of our guys got shot, but I want you to know that I’m not going to hold you responsible for that. I’m sure you were just as upset as I was,'” he says.
“If they weren’t, then move on. But I think any decent American would have been horrified by what they saw.”
