Trump noncommittal on second debate with Harris

Former President Trump did not say Tuesday whether he would hold a second debate with Vice President Harris immediately after their first face-off.

Trump argued that the fact that Harris' campaign so quickly asked for another debate showed they felt they didn't do a good job, and he repeatedly claimed he won the debate.

“I have to think, if you won the debate, maybe I shouldn't do it. Why do we have another debate?” Trump told Sean Hannity's Fox News show.

“When you lose as a professional boxer, you know what happens: you want the next fight right away,” Trump added.

He added that he would consider another debate “as long as it's on a fair network.”

President Trump and Vice President Harris held their first debate on Tuesday night, moderated by ABC News, with Vice President Harris repeatedly trying to rile up President Trump, often with success, by going off on tangents about the size of the audience, President Biden, and more.

Immediately after the debate ended, Harris' campaign called for another debate.

“Vice President Harris is ready for debate two. What about Donald Trump?” campaign chair Jen O'Malley Dillon said in a statement.
