Trump Introduces New “Gold Card” Visa Program

President Donald Trump has recently signed an executive order to create the “Trump Gold Card,” aiming to provide a simplified avenue for individuals and corporations to gain expedited residency in the United States.

This card, which was made official on Friday, comes with a hefty price tag of $1 million for individuals and $2 million for corporations looking to sponsor individuals. The associated fee is said to indicate the potential benefit that the individual might bring to the U.S., as mentioned on the official site.

Notably, the card features a depiction of President Trump, along with symbols like the Statue of Liberty, a bald eagle, the presidential seal, and the American flag.

“For far too long, we have had millions of illegal aliens pouring into our country, and our immigration system was broken,” Trump remarked on Truth Social. “It is beyond time that the American people, and American taxpayers, are benefitting from our legal immigration system.”

He further noted, “We anticipate the Trump Gold Card will generate well over $100 billion very quickly. This money will be used for reducing taxes, pro-growth projects, and paying down our debt.”

The executive order outlines that the gold card initiative is part of a broader strategy by the Trump administration to reverse the previous immigration policies, which “produced a deluge of immigrants” without sufficiently weighing their impact on American interests.

During the signing event in the Oval Office, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick informed reporters that the new card will replace the existing EB-1 and EB-2 visa programs, targeting individuals who are deemed to possess “exceptional value” to the U.S. He also mentioned the rollout of about 80,000 gold cards at the start.

“We are going to only take extraordinary people at the very top, instead of people trying to take the jobs from Americans,” Lutnick asserted.

This announcement arrives after months of anticipation, which included the launch of a waiting list for the card back in June.

Moreover, the administration has hinted at another proposed visa program, the “Trump Platinum Card,” available for $5 million. This would allow individuals to stay in the U.S. for up to 270 days without being taxed on non-U.S. income.

The president directed interested parties to visit trumpcard.gov/ for more details.
