Trump on Obama interaction at Carter funeral: 'It did look very friendly, I must say'

President-elect Trump revealed a little about his interaction with former President Barack Obama on Thursday at former President Carter's funeral, admitting that they seemed “friendly.”

“I have to say they seemed very friendly,” he says. said FOX News senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy is scheduled to meet with Republican governors at Florida's Mar-a-Lago resort.

“I didn't realize how friendly it would seem. “I saw it on your wonderful network. Just before I came over to the house not too long ago, I said, 'Well, They seem like two people who like each other,' he added. “And I think we probably are.”

After a contentious election season and past relationship (including Trump spying on his 2016 campaign and falsely accusing his predecessor of not being born in the United States), the two sat next to each other at a church service. We laughed amazingly.

“We have different philosophies, right?” Trump said Thursday. “I don't know, we just got along.”

“But then I got along with everyone,” the president-elect continued, “You know, we met backstage before the game started and I thought it was a great service. But everyone got along very well.”

President Trump did not provide details about what was said during the viral moment.

Mr. Obama sat between Mr. Trump and former President George W. Bush, who attended with his wife. Former first lady Michelle Obama was absent from the service due to scheduling conflicts.

President Bush was also particularly close to his successor, offering to give President Obama a pat on the stomach as he made his way to the National Cathedral, and receiving a pat on the back in return. But the former Republican president didn't even touch Trump as he passed by, seemingly ignoring him.
