Trump Opens Up Clear Lead Across Battleground States

Donald Trump rose by two points in battleground states following Tuesday's debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, according to a poll released Thursday.

Head-to-head, Trump leads Harris by three points, 50% to 47%, according to a polling memo obtained by Breitbart News.

“A poll released by highly respected pollster Tony Fabrizio shows that my approval rating is up by three points after the debate,” Trump said in a statement. “These are primarily independent voters who are tired of watching their country decline and want to Make America Great Again!”

According to the note:

Kamala Harris and the media tried hard to portray the debate as a landslide victory for Harris, but voters didn't see it that way and her support remained flat. The only change we saw was a 2-point increase for President Trump in both polling segments.

The survey was conducted in seven target states.

“Clearly, voters in the target states are unimpressed with Kamala Harris' empty platitudes and the media is trying to convince people that she is on her way to victory, but this is far from the truth,” the memo argues.

Trump announced on Thursday afternoon that he would not debate Harris again, a move that, whether true or false, disappointed Harris' campaign.

“When a professional boxer loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, 'I want a rematch,'” Trump said. Posts Harris said on Truth Social on Thursday that her debate victory was due to her desire for a second debate with Trump.

On June 27, Trump debated then-presidential candidate Joe Biden, but the results were so bad for Biden that he was forced to drop out of the race.
