“Today, I ordered the US troops to launch a decisive and powerful military action against the hooti terrorists in Yemen. They have launched a relentless campaign of copyright infringement, violence and terrorism against the US and others, ships, aircraft and drones,” President Trump wrote on Saturday.

“It's been more than a year since a US flagged commercial vessel safely sailed through the Suez Canal, the Red Sea or the Gulf of Aden. The last American warship to pass through the Red Sea four months ago was attacked by the Housis more than dozens of times. Iran-funded Hooty thugs launch missiles with US aircraft, targeting our troops and allies. These relentless attacks cost the US and the world economy billions of dollars, and at the same time risking innocent lives,” Trump continued.

“Houthis suffocated transportation in one of the world's most important waterways, halted a vast example of global commerce and attacked the core principles of voyage freedom on which international trade and commerce relies.”

President Trump also warned Iran to “quickly end” all support for the Houtis, or “completely accountable and we are not kind to it!”

The USS Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group was joined by a carrier, three naval destroyers and one cruiser on Saturday's mission.

The Houthi Health Ministry has revealed that at least 31 people have been killed and another 101 have been injured in the strike. The Ministry of Health added that among the deaths, 13 were civilians, including four children and one woman.

The strike was reported on Saturday evening in Sana and Sada, the bases of Hooty near the Saudi border.

President Trump's national security adviser Michael Waltz said the attack was “a overwhelming response that actually targeted multiple Hooty leaders and extracted them.”

Meanwhile, Iran vowed to continue the attack in solidarity with the Palestinians of Gaza.

Following the attack, Nasruddin Amer, deputy director of the Houthi Media Office, said Houthis was not thwarted by the strike and “continue to Gaza's shield and support and will not abandon it regardless of the challenge.”

Since the beginning of the war in Gaza, which began on October 7ththfollowing Hamas' attacks on Israeli civilians in 2023, the Houssis targeted more than 100 merchant ships with missiles and drones, sunk two ships and killing four sailors.

Furthermore, GOP Rep. Thomas Massy (Rk.y.) has strongly criticized Trump's attacks, claiming that airstrikes in Yemen intervened to satisfy the military industrial complex and replaced Ukraine's role as US military aid.

“On the US activity in Yemen: I recently said I would see new military involvement to compensate for the pullback in Ukraine. The military industrial complex demands around $50 billion a year from the government, exceeding what it takes to protect its country,” Massy wrote in a post on X on Saturday.
