Trump Honors Brian Wilson After His Passing
President Donald Trump expressed admiration for Brian Wilson, co-founder of the Beach Boys, on Thursday, referring to him as “the best ever, the true musical genius that has ever been there, to date.” This heartfelt tribute was shared on his platform, True Social.
In his post, Trump reiterated, “Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys is a true musical genius, the best ever, ever.” He also reflected on the legacy of Wilson’s music, saying, “Brian is no longer with us, but his music will live on forever,” offering condolences to Wilson’s family, friends, and dedicated fanbase.
According to reports, Wilson, known for his brilliance and creativity behind iconic tracks like “Good Vibrations” and “California Girls,” passed away Wednesday at 82. His family confirmed the sad news on his official website and social media.
“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved father, Brian Wilson,” a family statement shared on Instagram noted, adding that they were “speechless right now.”
They requested privacy during this difficult time, mentioning, “We find ourselves sharing our sadness with the world.”
The Beach Boys, one of the most successful groups from the rock era, have charted over 30 singles in the top 40 and sold more than 100 million records globally. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.
Wilson was the eldest of the Wilson brothers, with Carl and Dennis also part of the band. Sadly, Carl passed away from lung cancer in 1998 at 51, while Dennis drowned in 1983 at the age of 39.
Further details regarding Brian’s death have not been disclosed yet, although he had been under court protection since May 2024 to manage personal and medical matters. His representatives, Jean Sieber and manager Lee Anne Heard, have been overseeing his affairs.
