Trump Picks Ric Grenell to be Presidential Envoy for Special Missions

President-elect Donald Trump has appointed former Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell as special presidential envoy for special missions.

in post On “Truth Social,” President Trump highlighted Grenell's previous roles in Trump's first term, including his role as former U.S. ambassador to Germany. Trump added that Grenell “will continue to fight for peace through strength and will always put America first.”

President Trump said, “I am pleased to appoint Richard Allen Grenell as special presidential envoy.'' “Rick will be working in some of the hottest regions around the world, including Venezuela and North Korea.”

President Trump continued, “During my first term, Rick served as U.S. Ambassador to Germany, Acting Director of National Intelligence, and Special Presidential Envoy for Kosovo and Serbia Negotiations.'' Previously, he served for eight years within the United Nations Security Council. and helped develop North Korea and many other countries.

As Breitbart News previously reported, after the Senate voted to confirm Grenell, he became the first openly gay U.S. ambassador to Germany and became the first openly gay U.S. ambassador to Germany. He left his mark on history as the most senior executive in history.

In an interview with Breitbart News SaturdayGrenell dismissed the idea that President Trump would appoint the first openly gay cabinet member in U.S. history as having anything to do with “identity politics.”

“One of the things I like about President Trump is that he doesn't care about these issues,” Grenell explained. “He doesn't do identity politics. Someone asked me recently how many gays and lesbians were working in the Trump administration, and I had to say, 'I don't know.' I really don't understand. ' This person said to me: “Well, that's why, because in the Obama administration, the Obama-Biden administration, it was 2,410.” I said, “I'd be pretty pissed if I was on a list saying this is our list of gays and lesbians.” “I guess so.” Thankfully, we don't keep a list. ”
