Trump plans to accommodate 7,500 soldiers for a military parade in government office buildings, according to a report.

Reports indicate that over 7,000 soldiers are set to be accommodated in government office buildings for a significant military parade next month, celebrating the Army’s 250th anniversary.

This parade coincides with President Trump’s birthday and is anticipated to showcase tanks, military aircraft, and various equipment at the National Mall, based on planning documents. The estimated cost of the event is around $30 million, although this figure may increase.

According to reports, soldiers and their gear are expected to arrive in Washington leading up to the parade on June 14th. The event is said to involve 120 military vehicles, including 24 Abrams tanks and Howitzer cannons.

The president is expected to watch the parade from a viewing stand along Constitutional Avenue, close to the White House. The festivities will conclude with fireworks at dusk, as reported.

The Department of Defense has yet to respond to inquiries regarding the plans.

Army officials have confirmed that the route for the parade will stretch nearly four miles, starting from the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and ending at the White House.

Democrats and other critics have raised concerns about the parade’s cost and the potential politicization of a typically nonpartisan military event. The coincidence of the parade falling on Trump’s birthday has added to this criticism, with some viewing it as a celebration of the president himself.

In a recent interview, Trump mentioned that the parade would also commemorate Flag Day on June 14th. He suggested that the cost was negligible compared to its perceived importance.

“We have the greatest missiles in the world. We have the greatest submarines in the world. We have the greatest army tanks in the world,” Trump stated, expressing pride in the military capabilities and the celebration.

Previously, Trump expressed admiration for military parades, having attended one during Bastille Day in France in 2017. In 2019, he hosted an event called “Salute to America” on July 4th, featuring military displays and his own remarks.
