Trump’s Upcoming Fundraising Dinners
President Donald Trump has scheduled two notable dinners this month, both centered around intriguing fundraising strategies. One event is targeting wealthy political donors, while the other is drawing a memecoin millionaire into the fold, both aiming to rally support that could impact millions.
The first event takes place on May 5th, featuring a hefty $1.5 million ticket price, making it one of the priciest fundraising dinners in presidential history. The second event, happening on May 22nd, offers guests access to Trump’s inner circle based on their holdings of $Trump Tokens rather than cash.
The “Crypto & AI Innovators Dinner,” organized by Maga Inc., will highlight special guest David Sacks.
For the second gala at Trump National in Washington, participants gain entry through a blockchain-based contest linked to the $Trump Meme Token. Your chances of attending hinge on the number of tokens you possess, not monetary contributions.
That said, the fine print includes caveats regarding Trump’s attendance. Per the event’s terms of service, it’s noted that the event could be canceled for unspecified reasons, and attendees may receive a Trump NFT in lieu of access if that happens.
Despite these uncertainties, the token has seen a surge in interest, with the announcement of the gala spiking the value of the $Trump Token by over 50%. This practically bolstered the wallets of those in the know, including early supporters.
Chains of transaction data analyzed by the firm Chainalysis indicate that people linked to the token’s creators have made more than $324 million from transaction fees. These fees are part of the token’s framework, allowing a portion of every transaction to funnel into wallets managed by the project’s creator.
Interestingly, insiders have committed to delaying any cash-outs of their token shares for at least another 90 days, as per the project’s public disclosures.
