Crosby, one of the Raiders’ biggest stars, declared himself a fan of Trump shortly after the attempted assassination of former President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13. Crosby called Trump the GOAT in a post on X that day. Crosby has spent his entire career with the Raiders.
Minshew is a rookie out of Las Vegas who signed with the Raiders this offseason and was named the team’s starting quarterback by head coach Antonio Pierce.
Backman, a former New York Giants player, was expected to compete for a spot on the active roster as the team’s backup or practice squad player, but managed to pose for a photo with Trump.

Trump was in Nevada on Friday for a campaign trip, touting his “no tax on tips” policy and thanking his 2024 presidential opponent, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., for his endorsement after he dropped out of the race to run as an independent.
Does Kennedy’s withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race give Trump an advantage over Harris?
“We had a tremendous endorsement from RFK Jr., Bobby. I’ll talk about that later. I’m leaving in a minute. I’m going to Arizona. I’ll talk about that and a lot of other things, but I just want to thank everybody. And I want to thank Bobby. It was fantastic. It was really, really, really big. He’s a great guy and he’s well respected by everybody,” Trump said at the event.
The former Democrat said hours ago Trump was scheduled Kennedy is scheduled to hold a campaign event near Glendale, Ariz. The Trump campaign announced Thursday that the former president will be joined by a “special guest,” hinting at Kennedy’s support.

Las Vegas has long been one of the cities where Trump’s businesses have played an important role economically and culturally. In 2008, the city’s tallest building, the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas, officially opened. Trump worked with his friend and Las Vegas casino owner Phil Ruffin on the 1,282-room non-gambling project. According to the Review-Journal, real estate records show that developers have closed more than $400 million in unit sales since the luxury high-rise opened in 2008.
Nevada has voted Democrat in every presidential election since 2008, but Trump has held a lead in polls there for much of the 2024 election cycle. Since 1980, presidential candidates who have carried Nevada have won 10 of 11 elections. The only exception was in 2016, when Trump lost the state to Hillary Clinton but still won the election.
The Raiders open the season on September 8th in Los Angeles against the division rival Chargers.
