Trump Applauds Disney’s Move to Preempt Kimmel’s Show

President Donald Trump expressed his approval on Wednesday regarding Disney’s decision to indefinitely preempt “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” describing it as “Great News for America.”

Fox News Digital reached out to a Disney representative, confirming that Kimmel’s show will be pulled soon. This follows reports indicating that Nexstar Media Group, which operates numerous TV stations, plans to replace Kimmel’s show with other programming on Wednesday night, particularly regarding the controversy surrounding Charlie Kirk and the suspect, Tyler Robinson.

Trump, who has frequently criticized Kimmel and other late-night hosts, celebrated the announcement in a post, saying, “America’s great news: The challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show will be cancelled. Congratulations to ABC for having the courage to do what they have to do in the end.” He further added sharp remarks about Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers, calling them “total losers” representing “fake news” on NBC. It’s worth noting, though, that ABC has not officially canceled Kimmel’s program.

On Monday, Kimmel accused Trump of a “new low” for trying to connect a leftist ideology to the 22-year-old suspect, a point he reiterated during an indictment presentation on Tuesday.

In light of the ongoing situation, Kimmel, who has often been critical of Trump, has faced backlash for suggesting that the suspect supports the MAGA movement. Some defenders claim he was misrepresented in his comments.

According to various reports, Kimmel planned to address the backlash on his show, aiming to clarify his previous statements.

The controversy intensified when both FBI officials and the Utah governor indicated that Robinson has shown increasingly radicalized behavior, and it was disclosed that he is biologically male with a transgender partner who is transitioning.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Kerr issued a warning to Disney on Wednesday if the situation escalates further.

Meanwhile, Trump predicted earlier this summer that Kimmel’s show would face cancellation, suggesting Kimmel might be next after Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” went off-air.

In prior statements, Trump remarked, “Jimmy Kimmel is next to go to the evil late-night sweepstakes. Fallon will follow shortly after.” The ongoing tensions between Trump and Kimmel continue to play out in the public eye, reflecting broader cultural divides.
