President-elect Trump said he has a “great future” ahead of former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Florida) after he withdrew his nomination for attorney general.
President Trump said in one article: post Truth Social said it “highly” admires Gaetz's efforts to lead the Department of Justice (DOJ), but recognizes he didn't want to be a distraction.

Gates has been the subject of a years-long investigation by the House Ethics Committee over allegations of sexual misconduct, but the committee declined to release its report at Wednesday's meeting. The committee voted against releasing the report in its current state on party lines, but voted in favor of completing it, according to a source familiar with the committee's deliberations.
The committee is scheduled to meet again on December 5th.
Gaetz was also investigated by the Justice Department over the allegations, but the department ultimately decided not to charge him.
