President Trump Commends Vice President Vance’s Anti-Fraud Efforts
During a Cabinet meeting at the White House on Wednesday, President Trump expressed his admiration for Vice President J.D. Vance’s role in leading the Anti-Fraud Task Force.
In his introductory remarks, Trump likened Vance to Eliot Ness, famously known for his efforts against Al Capone’s bootlegging operations during Prohibition.
“With Vice President J.D. Vance at the helm, I am very proud to say the White House Task Force to Combat Fraud is tackling waste, fraud, theft, and abuse like never before. He resembles Eliot Ness,” Trump stated.
Trump further remarked, “I’m telling you, they’re a cast of characters that looks like a movie. I think we might want to make a film about this,” showcasing his enthusiasm.
He highlighted that Vance and his team had identified tens of billions of dollars in potential fraudulent activities, with Vance commenting that he had “not seen anything yet.”
“If he did a great job, we could balance the budget without breaking a sweat. This is the extent of the money these fraudsters stole. They’re criminals,” he continued, along with a call for Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche to pursue justice.
Vance’s team has reportedly discovered fraudulent activities in various government programs, including hospice care in California, SNAP fraud in states like Minnesota, and issues related to government contract fraud. They’ve also started intercepting millions in suspected student aid fraud.
“Over the past two months, we’ve uncovered tens of billions in taxpayer funds, filed numerous prosecutions against fraudsters, and halted billions in questionable payments. It’s quite concerning,” Trump mentioned.
“Reports from Todd and JD have been extraordinary. Hundreds of billions were stolen, and no other administration would have taken the action we’re doing. They tend to ignore it; everyone else was profiting,” he added.
Vance, adopting a comprehensive strategy across government sectors in the fight against fraud, expressed his gratitude to Trump for backing the task force.
“The leadership of a president dedicated to this cause has made all of this possible,” Vance noted.
