Trump Prays For ‘Wonderful’ King Charles III After Cancer Diagnosis

Former U.S. President Donald J. Trump praised Britain’s King Charles III and offered prayers for his recovery after Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer.

Charles III, king of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Papua New Guinea and 10 other Commonwealth kingdoms, began treatment for cancer on Monday, Buckingham Palace said in a statement late Monday.

British political leaders were quick to express their wishes to the King, and international leaders were not far behind, with President Trump announcing on Truth Social that King Charles, whom he had met several times during his presidency, was “a wonderful man. ” During his tenure he “became well acquainted.”

President Trump on King’s cancer diagnosis I have written: “We all wish him a speedy and full recovery.”

President Joe Biden also spoke out about King Charles, saying in response to a question from reporters: I just asked about his diagnosis. God willing, I will talk to him. ”

Donald Trump, who has British ancestry through his late mother’s lineage, visited the UK three times during his term as president and has spoken highly of his time with the royal family, especially the late Queen Elizabeth.

Compared to his predecessor, President Trump was considered a relatively Anglophile president. But political issues, including apparent hostility toward President Trump among London’s political elite, have hampered progress on a post-Brexit bilateral trade deal and other deals supported by the 45th president.

King Charles, then Prince of Wales and heir to the throne, met with President Trump for afternoon tea during a visit in June 2019.
