Many voters are eagerly anticipating President Trump's first decision after President Joe Biden managed to bring the country into decline.

Under Biden's leadership, the United States suffered a deadly Afghanistan withdrawal, soaring inflation, the weaponization of justice, and the prosecution of political opponents. Russia also invaded Ukraine, and millions of migrants poured across the U.S. southern border. Due to rising prices and a surge in immigration, the homeless population will increase by 18% in 2024 alone.

President Trump's incoming deputy chief of staff for policy, Stephen Miller, reportedly told senators to expect major changes to border and immigration policy on day one.

Sources say reinstating Title 42 will be one of President Trump's top priorities.

Section 42, which Biden removed in 2023, gives the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) the power to order border officials to quickly expel immigrants before potential illnesses can spread.

Axios reported Additional priorities:

  • Makes more active use of a section of the Immigration and Nationality Act (section 287(g)) that allows some state and local law enforcement agencies to assist Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with some of its missions. .
  • Build a border wall, build soft-side facilities to hold immigrants, and implement other asylum restrictions.
