President Donald Trump has hinted at a new way for individuals to achieve U.S. citizenship.
On Friday, during a discussion with reporters in the Oval Office, he mentioned the possibility of changing the current citizenship process. This announcement comes as the Trump administration noted a decrease in illegal crossings at the southern border and took steps to limit entry for foreign students.
“We’re actually going to be able to allow people to come and, I think, walk the path to citizenship in the near future. It’s going to be very exciting,” Trump remarked, suggesting more discussions could happen soon.
This follows his earlier comments about potential restrictions on foreign students, emphasizing his desire for the best and brightest at institutions like Harvard, and clarifying he doesn’t intend to cause trouble.
