Trump proposes green cards for college graduates, echoing Clinton

Former President Trump suggested offering green cards to overseas college graduates on his podcast on Thursday.

“But what I want to do, and what I’m going to do, is when you graduate from college, you automatically get a green card as part of your diploma, so you can stay in this country,” Trump said. Said In an interview on the “All-In” podcast.

“I know stories of people who graduated from top universities and colleges who desperately wanted to stay in this country, who had plans for companies and initiatives, but they weren’t able to and they went back to India or China,” Trump said.

President Trump recently criticized his 2024 presidential rival, President Biden, on immigration issues at a rally in Wisconsin after the White House announced an executive order allowing some immigrants married to U.S. citizens to stay and work legally in the country without papers.

“It sends a message to the world that bad immigrants are encouraging illegal immigration, and that’s what’s happening right now,” Trump said.

“Let’s not make a fool of ourselves, the people who are suffering the most are black and Hispanic people,” he continued. “You know who else is suffering the most? Labor unions.”
