Trump’s Heaven Remarks on Ending Ukraine-Russia War
Recently, in a phone interview with Fox & Friends, former President Donald Trump discussed his belief that ending the war between Ukraine and Russia could help him attain heaven. “I would like to go to heaven if possible,” Trump stated during the conversation, mentioning he had heard he might not be faring well as a person.
“I’ve really heard I’m at the bottom of the totem pole, but if I can get to heaven, this could be one of the reasons,” he added. He underscored that concluding the war could potentially “save 7,000 lives a week from being killed.”
This interview occurred the day after Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other European leaders, amid ongoing discussions about the conflict that began in 2022. Additionally, he had a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Alaska, just days prior.
Trump expressed hope that Zelensky and Putin would meet in a one-on-one setting soon after their trilateral meeting. This isn’t the first time he’s made comments about faith; last year at the Republican National Convention, he spoke about divine intervention following an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. “I had God on my side,” he mentioned, reflecting on how a last-minute movement likely saved his life.
When he initially ran for president in 2015, Trump stirred discussion by saying, “I don’t know if I’ve ever asked God’s forgiveness,” among a crowd of conservative Christians in Iowa. His comments then shifted, as he indicated during a later statement that participating in communion involves seeking forgiveness.
