Trump puts Gulf of America on the map — but is it just a master troll?

As Donald Trump's inauguration approaches, the president-elect recently announced renaming the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America as one of his priorities.

President Trump has also openly talked about his desire to annex foreign territories such as Greenland and the Panama Canal, and has suggested that Canada should join the United States.

“We will change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, which has a beautiful ring. … It covers a lot of territory. … Gulf of America. What a beautiful name. It is appropriate. And Mexico must stop the flow of millions of people into our country,” President Trump said at a press conference this week.

While many Americans support his plan, many wonder if it's actually just a joke or if he's serious.

“I think the latter is a little more likely, but I'm actually a little disappointed that the left-wing media isn't responding at the level it's used to. I mean, just a few years ago, Trump “If I had said that, they definitely would have thought, 'Oh my god, it's an act of war,'” Bedford says.

“We all laughed and giggled watching this whole incident,” he continues. “They seem to be taking it well. It's just a symptom of how completely defeated they really look.”

“You know, the Gulf of Mexico, the Gulf of America, the Freedom Fly, I like that,” he added.

“Honestly, I'm fine with either,” jokes Matthew Peterson.
