Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday slammed the media over reports that he had a lengthy conversation with billionaire Elon Musk on “X,” the platform Musk owns that is commonly known as Twitter.
“I spoke with Elon for two and a half hours last night. He is a great guy and we got the most views and hits of all time. All the Fake News wants to say is that our servers crashed (due to volume!) and the show started a little late,” Trump said. Written After the conversation was reported in the media, he said on the Truth Social website:
“What they should have reported is what so many people have heard. I hate the Fake News Media with all my heart,” Trump said. “It’s really bad for our country!”
Musk’s conversation with President Trump was delayed by more than 30 minutes on Monday due to apparent technical issues, and during the delay, Musk posted on the platform that X was under a “massive DDOS (denial of service) attack” targeted at the platform.
At its peak, Trump and Musk’s “Space” chat had more than 1 million listeners.
During the free-flowing conversation, Musk questioned the former president about the recent assassination attempt and his views on a range of issues from immigration to crime to the economy.
Musk, who frequently promotes conservative causes and influencers on X, has voiced his support for Trump and pledged to spend millions of dollars to help the former president win this fall’s election.
