Trump Questions Accountability of Biden Officials
During a media briefing in O’Fallon, Florida, former President Donald Trump raised concerns about why Alejandro Mayorkas, the former Homeland Security Secretary, and other officials in the Biden administration haven’t faced any arrests. The inquiry came in response to a question from Julio Rosas, a national correspondent for Blaze News.
Rosas noted that many people were expressing frustration over Mayorkas’ handling of border issues through surveys and reactions to his online videos.
“It’s encouraging to see that borders are more secure, and cooperation at the state level is commendable,” Trump said. “But why isn’t there any accountability? It seems like no one is truly holding him responsible.”
During the exchange, Rosas asked about Mayorkas’ perceived failures regarding border security, suggesting that he had purposefully allowed millions of undocumented immigrants into the country. Mayorkas did not respond to these accusations at the time.
Rosas recounted a previous encounter with Mayorkas, stating, “He didn’t appreciate my questions about his handling of the border, but this issue comes up all the time—why hasn’t he been arrested?”
Trump added, “It’s clear there have been intentional failures over the past few years. People want answers and accountability.” He mentioned that while cooperation among states is encouraging, there are still open questions regarding responsibility.
When Rosas challenged him about the pardons given to certain officials, Trump responded, “Some people shouldn’t be granted such leniency.” Rosas seemed skeptical about that assertion.
“What he did is beyond incompetent,” Trump stated, continuing to criticize the administration’s handling of border security and immigration policies. He emphasized the need for officials to take a stand and address these serious issues directly.
Trump expressed his belief that Mayorkas and others in the administration are among the worst he has seen in U.S. history. He concluded with, “It’s a very good question—thank you!”
