Trump Ready to Go ‘Minute One’ on Deportations

Incoming National Security Adviser Mike Walz said Sunday on CNN's “State of the Union” that President-elect Donald Trump will begin deportations “immediately.”

Host Dana Bash said, “Immigration, it looks like the president is going to issue a ton of executive orders tomorrow, especially regarding immigration. Can you explain to me what that's going to be? Are they going to be raided right away? ? Please tell me how it will work and who will be affected.”

Mr. Waltz said: “Well, first of all, we're definitely going to see more aggressive action by the Border Patrol to close the border, and secondly, we're moving rapidly toward a Remain in Mexico policy. Third, some of our key partners are going to step up in terms of deportation and the return of some people, who they are, or how that happens. I don't want to get too far ahead of myself. And number four, Tom Homan. In fact, our inner-city mayors are begging for it. The president campaigned on it. We're going to get them out of our cities and communities, starting with the worst offenders.”

Bash said, “Is this the big raid we're talking about?”

Waltz said, “Well, I don't know. I don't know how you define massive, but when criminals are raping, assaulting, wreaking havoc, what you're definitely going to see is an attack. It's an action.”

Bash said, “Does it start next week?”

“The president is ready to kick these people out of the United States immediately,” Walz said.
