Former President Donald Trump recalled one of the “craziest” nights of his youth in a recent interview with Tyrus on the show Outkick.

The 2024 Republican presidential candidate told Tyrus that he was at the first fight between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, known as the “Fight of the Century,” at Madison Square Garden in March 1971.
“Believe it or not, I was in Madison Square Garden. I think it was Ali Frazier I. … I was there as a young man, a very young man,” President Trump recalled. . “And I remember having multiple heart attacks. … It was the craziest night.
“Two undefeated legendary fighters, they were both undefeated. And it was brutal. And it was days of 15-round fights. And I can't say that because I'm not in the ring, but… Those fights were better.''Those extra three rounds were championship rounds…As far as events go, I think that was probably the best event. ”

Frazier won by unanimous decision. Ali, who entered this match with a record of 31 wins and 0 losses, suffered his first loss. Frazier improved to 27-0.
President Trump praised UFC President Dana White for how he shifted the focus of the combat sports world from boxing to mixed martial arts.
“We have Dana White, who has done a great job with the UFC,” Trump added. “Unless something happens, boxing will never look the same.”
President Trump also spoke about his friendship with boxing promoter Don King and Ali.
