Trump Attends Yankees Game, Honors National Anthem

New York – President Donald Trump made an appearance at Yankee Stadium on Thursday night, showing respect for the national anthem and receiving a warm reception from the enthusiastic crowd.

Arriving in the city just after 6 PM, Trump settled into a suite on the third base side shortly after. Given that it was the 24th anniversary of September 11th, the atmosphere was generally supportive, with only some moderate boos heard here and there. Before and after the anthem, a loud “USA” chant broke out among the fans.

I did catch a brief “F— Joe Biden” chant, but it quickly faded away, overshadowed by the positive energy.

After his visit to the Yankees’ home clubhouse, Trump shook hands and chatted with players like Aaron Judge and Anthony Volpe. It’s interesting how he often praises their physical strength—as he did with Judge—before witnessing a powerful solo homer that went out at 110 mph.

Fans were encouraged to take public transport to the game and get there early, with gates opening three hours prior, which is much longer than the usual 90 minutes.

Before the game, Trump was seen in a suite with Yankees’ team owners Hal Steinbrenner and President Randy Levine, having earlier attended the 9/11 ceremony at the Pentagon.

This marks Trump’s first baseball game since the 2021 World Series. Interestingly, the last time he was at an MLB game as a sitting president was during the fall classic of 2019.
