Unexpected Support for Trump at White House
On Friday, President Trump’s press briefing took an unexpected turn when a photographer called out, “Trump 2028!” as Trump was addressing reporters in the White House.
The photographer, Gilish Gaul, affiliated with Lindel Television—a network created by Mike Lindell, the CEO of My Pillow—was standing to the side of the stage. He raised his fist in support of the president, catching the attention of both officials and reporters.
“I like him!” Trump responded. “He’s working on camera.”
Gaul’s shout came during a discussion where the president pointed out that illegal immigrants were not being released into the United States after being arrested at the southwest border in May.
After the briefing, Gaul expressed that he felt more like an activist than a reporter, saying, “I think he’s doing a great job as president.” He added, “I think he brought America back,” reflecting on his admiration for Trump’s leadership.
Gaul’s unconventional display of support might seem like a small instance compared to previous notable press incidents involving the president. The press pool has seen its share of colorful personalities, including the late Trudefeldman, known for his unconventional interviews with eight presidents, and Jeff Garon, who was revealed to have a controversial past.
