President-elect Donald Trump has reiterated his support for Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth.

President Trump said in a post on Truth Social on Friday that Hegseth is doing very well and that his support is very strong and deep.
He went on to predict that Hegseth will be an energetic defense secretary who will lead with charisma and skill.
Trump concluded by praising Hegseth as a winner and adding that nothing can change that.
Hegseth returned to the Capitol on Thursday to meet with senators considering his nomination.
“In my opinion, Pete Hegseth was very instrumental in getting my full support today,” said Sen. Mike Rounds (R.S.D.). “But I hope he can answer the questions that are there in front of everyone else and do a good job on it. That was my advice to him, be prepared, Please be prepared to answer questions.”
Although some Republican senators appear wary of Mr. Hegseth, he has vowed to continue pursuing the nomination as long as President Trump supports him.
