President Donald Trump made a hopeful speech in Thursday's speech at National Peep Breakfast, a decades-long bipartisan tradition attended by Washington's most well-known politicians .
In his speech, Trump spoke about governing American religion, reminding attendees of the Christian Foundation where our country was built.
“People of religion will be happy again. And I truly believe you cannot be happy without religion without that belief.”
“America is one nation under God,” Trump said. I said. “At every step of the American story, our nation has drawn hope, courage and inspiration from its trust in the Almighty,” Trump added. “Deep inside the souls of all patriots is the knowledge that God has a special plan and a glorious mission for America.”
“It is his hand that guides us at every stage,” Trump continued.
“And all we have to do is see the critical role that faith and prayer have played in the life of our nation.”
Trump reassured Christians around the country in his speech that he worked to reinvigorate American religion. In the first weeks of his presidency, Trump has already signed an executive order ending the armamentation of the government against American Christians, forgiveping pro-life protesters targeted by President Joe Biden's administration.
“Religious people will be happy again,” Trump said. I said. “And I really believe you can't be happy without religion and without that belief. I really believe it. I don't know what will happen to you.”
“So let's regain our religion,” Trump continued. “Let God return to our lives.”
Since Trump took office, Faith has focused on many of his speeches. In his inaugural speech, Trump in particular attributed his historic reelection to God's intervention.
“People who wanted to stop our cause were trying to take my freedom and actually take my life,” Trump said during his speech. “Only a few months ago, on a beautiful Pennsylvania field, an assassin bullet was torn into my ears, and I felt that my life was saved.”
“I was saved by God to make America great again,” Trump said.
