Trump to Promote Economic Policies During US Tour

President Trump is set to launch a year-long tour across the United States, focusing on his economic policies, as confirmed by a White House official. The move comes as affordability becomes a crucial topic for Democratic campaigns, while Republicans are strategizing their response following the November 2025 elections. Trump’s initial stop will be in Pennsylvania on Tuesday.

Axios reported that the president intends to counter claims suggesting that everyday items have become unaffordable. At a recent Cabinet meeting, Trump referred to affordability concerns as a “Democrat scam,” arguing that while Democrats base their campaigns on this issue, they fail to show commitment to revitalizing the economy.

“I think they’re misleading people. Affordability is a fabricated problem started by the Democrats, and they haven’t solved it,” Trump told a Fox Business reporter, noting his election was largely influenced by this very issue.

“We’re working to bring prices down, and they are coming down significantly. For instance, beef prices are decreasing. We faced disastrous prices when I took office, perhaps among the worst in history. We inherited that and have since made improvements. Honestly, we’ve addressed nearly everything, even conflicts abroad,” he elaborated.

A recent Politico poll highlighted that 46% of Americans believe the cost of living is at a historic low, with 37% of Trump voters in agreement. The poll was conducted between November 14th and 17th and surveyed 2,098 adults, with a margin of error of 2%.

Former President Biden also engaged in a tour promoting his economic initiatives, dubbed “Bidenomics.” However, as public perception of the economy declined, the Biden administration moved away from the term, attempting to persuade people that economic conditions were more favorable than what they were experiencing.

Following the Democratic victory in the 2025 election, Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair indicated to Politico that affordability will be a focal point for Republicans leading into the 2026 midterms. “The president is acutely aware of the situation and understands that economic recovery is a gradual process. Nevertheless, the fundamentals are solid, and he’s placing considerable emphasis on tackling inflation and the cost of living,” he shared.
