Trump Defends Proposed White House Ballroom Plans

President Donald Trump expressed strong opposition to a lawsuit related to the planned ballroom at the White House, asserting that its security features are crucial for protecting the nation’s capital.

In a recent post on Truth Social, Trump shared images of a proposed drone port that would be part of the ballroom’s design. He highlighted the increasing need for advanced security measures due to modern weaponry.

“The DronePort at the White House Ballroom will be, perhaps, the most sophisticated anywhere in the World! It will safeguard our Nation’s Capital, Washington, D.C., long into the future,” he stated.

He criticized Judge Richard Leon, who had issued an injunction in April that paused above-ground construction. After a day, an appellate court lifted the injunction, allowing work to continue as the legal process unfolds. Oral arguments are expected on June 5.

“Judge Richard Leon should stop playing games with America’s Security! If anything happens, he will be held responsible for the Death and Destruction caused to our Country,” Trump remarked.

He continued by accusing the judge of creating issues through a lawsuit initiated by a “highly litigious woman” claiming her daily routine would be disrupted by the new construction. According to Trump, she has no standing in the matter.

Emphasizing the need for modern defense strategies, Trump remarked on the limitations of traditional weaponry.

“With the advent of highly sophisticated, and powerful, modern day weaponry, we can no longer defend Washington, D.C., with rifles and pistols alone. This ridiculous lawsuit must be dismissed, IMMEDIATELY!” he added.

In a related note, a recent $1 billion security funding proposal in the Senate was abandoned. This measure had aimed to support the White House complex, including the ballroom, although only a small fraction was allocated specifically for the ballroom’s security upgrades.
