Trump Reveals Secret Military Complex Under White House Ballroom
In a recent announcement, President Trump confirmed that a significant military facility is being constructed beneath the White House ballroom, shedding light on a project brought to public attention by a recent lawsuit.
This ballroom sits above a nuclear shelter originally built in the 1940s, designed to protect the president during wartime.
“Right now, the military is building a big complex underneath the ballroom. It came to light because of some stupid lawsuit filed recently,” Trump stated to reporters while aboard Air Force One.
“They’re constructing a substantial complex beneath the banquet hall, and it’s moving along quite well,” he added. “We use all bulletproof glass and have roofs and ceilings that are drone-proof.”
“Unfortunately, we live in a time when that’s necessary,” he remarked.
There’s been ongoing chatter about renovations to the White House’s nuclear shelter, known formally as the Presidential Emergency Operations Center. Although the renovations have been somewhat of an open secret, detailed information has largely remained undisclosed.
The nuclear bunker used to be situated under the East Tower, which Trump demolished last year to make way for his planned $400 million ballroom. This facility has seen numerous upgrades over the years.
Last year, the Secret Service highlighted in court documents that attempts to halt the ballroom’s construction raised national security concerns, widely interpreted as a nod to the shelter project.
Describing the ballroom, Trump has claimed it to be “impenetrable,” emphasizing its resilience against drones and its bulletproof features.
On his return to Washington, D.C., from Florida this Sunday, Trump revealed the latest design for the ballroom, seemingly influenced by certain critiques. He hinted that there were design elements to reconsider, commenting on oversized schematics and obstructive pillars.
He presented a new version of the ballroom design, asserting that it was created earlier that day to reflect the project’s evolution.
Trump declared, “I think it will be the best banquet hall of its kind anywhere in the world.” He noted that many people were offering positive reviews, some without even visiting the site since it had just opened to the public.
“It’s really beautiful now and fits perfectly in the White House. It’s also ready for the inauguration,” he added.
In addition, Trump took aim at the New York Times, claiming their critique of the ballroom design was out of date. He refuted comments about fake windows and the non-existent southern stairs, suggesting that those features were no longer part of the design.
