Trump Reveals He is Voting No on Florida’s Abortion Amendment

Former President Donald Trump has made it clear that he intends to vote against a proposed abortion amendment in Florida.

when asked When asked by a reporter whether he was for or against the idea, Amendment 4Trump explained that while he believes Florida's six-week abortion ban needs “more than six weeks,” he would vote against the Florida abortion amendment, noting that Democrats have “extreme” views on abortion.

Florida's Fourth Amendment would enshrine the right to abortion at any stage of pregnancy in the state constitution.

“I think we need a lot longer than six weeks,” Trump said. “I've been against this since I heard about it early on in the primaries. At the same time, Democrats are extreme because nine months is an absurd situation where you can get an abortion in the ninth month of pregnancy.”

“In some states, like Minnesota, you can actually execute babies after they're born, and that's just not acceptable,” Trump added. “So I'm going to vote no for that reason.”

A Florida law banning abortions after six weeks of pregnancy went into effect in early May. The six-week restriction came after the Florida Supreme Court upheld Florida's 15-week restriction.

President Trump's response: said NBC News added that it believes six weeks is “too short” and would like “more than six weeks.”

“I think six weeks is too short. We need more time,” Trump told the outlet.

As Breitbart News previously reported, two recent polls found that the state's abortion amendment failed to receive the 60 percent support needed to pass.
