Trump reveals updated design for proposed White House ballroom expansion

Trump Reveals Rendering of New White House Ballroom

On Tuesday, Donald Trump shared a new concept image of a proposed ballroom at the White House. He described the initiative as a historic enhancement that would “serve our country for centuries into the future.”

In a post on Truth Social, Trump mentioned that this is the first rendering made public, showcasing how the new ballroom will replace the existing east wing with a revamped and government-fixed design, visible from the Treasury Building. He noted that the new structure aligns in height and scale with the current White House.

The ballroom, covering 90,000 square feet, is designed to host around 650 guests. Construction is already underway, with an estimated cost exceeding $200 million, funded by Trump and private donors, as previously stated by the administration.

Trump also highlighted a detail about the design, mentioning that “the north wall replicates the North Facade of the White House,” as seen in the rendering.

The White House has never had a formal banquet hall, and there’s a clear necessity for such a space. On July 31, Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt revealed the construction plans, emphasizing that the new ballroom would eliminate the need for foreign dignitaries to set up temporary structures when hosting major events, something that has been, I think, not so aesthetically pleasing.

Since taking office again, Trump has initiated several projects aimed at refreshing the aesthetics of the White House and other notable sites in Washington. Recently, he announced that the Trump Kennedy Center will undergo a two-year renovation starting later this year.

Additionally, Trump mentioned a new monument to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary, which resembles the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. This structure is designed to greet visitors crossing the Memorial Bridge from Arlington National Cemetery into the capital.

Moreover, Trump has made various enhancements to the Oval Office, including the addition of gold accents, a “Walk of Fame” outside the Oval Office, and even updates to Lincoln’s bathroom. He has also paved portions of the Rose Garden and installed two prominent American flags on the White House grounds.
