Trump Critiques ABC Host During Meeting with Argentine President

During a meeting with Argentine President Javier Milei, President Donald Trump took a jab at ABC News host George Stephanopoulos.

He remarked, “We’ll take some questions from the news, but it will be very non-adversarial and friendly, like JD had a very ‘friendly’ interview with Mr. George Slopadopoulos,” using sarcasm as he derisively mispronounced Stephanopoulos’ name.

Trump referenced the ABC lawsuit, quipping, “Last time we were here, he was generous enough to pay me $16 million. He had to pay me $16 million. That’s quite something. I mean, it was worth it, I guess. If I can get $16 million out of lying to someone, I’d say that’s good.”

He also expressed discontent with Vice President J.D. Vance’s recent interview on the Disney-owned network. “JD faced some really tough interviewers, and that’s not acceptable. Cutting off a respected vice president mid-sentence? That’s one way to win an argument. It was quite inappropriate, to say the least.”

Later, Trump stated he wouldn’t entertain questions from “ABC Fake News.”

In an interview on Sunday, Vance had a tense exchange with Stephanopoulos, which ended abruptly when he denied taking bribes from Border Czar Tom Homan. He accused Stephanopoulos of losing credibility.

Stephanopoulos pressed Vance about whether Homan had received money, highlighting a recorded incident where Homan allegedly took $50,000 in cash.

Vance responded, “George, I don’t know what tape you’re referring to. I’ve seen reports claiming Tom Homan took bribes, but there’s no evidence. And this is why fewer people are watching your show – you’re spending five minutes discussing this with the Vice President of the United States.” He suggested they move on, but Stephanopoulos objected, intending to end the interview.

Vance further commented on social media, “Peace in the Middle East? China threatening our supply chains? A government shutdown? George S. doesn’t care about those issues. He’s fixated on the fake scandal with Tom Homan.”

ABC News has not commented on the matter.
