Donald Trump is calling on The Washington Post to change its tune.
“The Washington Post is screwed with FAKE NEWS! They need to clean up their act. Start writing the truth and maybe they can win some back considering they’ve lost over 50% of their readership in a short amount of time,” Trump said in a Truth Social post.
The Washington Post is screwing up with fake news! They need to change their act. If they start writing the truth, maybe they can win some readers back considering they lost over 50% of their readers in a short period of time. They have fools and idiots like Eugene Robinson and are totally unqualified to do what they do. The Washington Post is in its last stages and has no reason to exist anymore. They are very dishonest and news comes from many other sources such as the internet which are much more reliable. Bezos who is losing over $100 million a year on his “magazine” would at least like to see some real journalism instead of fake news that only hurts and degrades our country. MAGA2024!
The Washington Post is currently facing a scandal surrounding Robert Winnett, a veteran Sunday Times reporter who is set to become the Post’s editor-in-chief later this year.
The allegation is that he attempted to steal a soon-to-be-released memoir by former Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Arrested by London police in 2010, the suspect was a one-time aspiring actor named John Ford, who admitted to a long career of using fraud and illegal means to obtain classified information for Britain’s Sunday Times newspaper. Facing possible prosecution, Ford called a journalist he had worked with and trusted on multiple occasions for help.
According to a draft of a book Ford later wrote about his ordeal, the journalist was Robert Winnett, a veteran Sunday Times reporter who is set to become editor-in-chief of The Washington Post later this year.
According to drafts written by Ford in 2017 and 2018 and provided to The Washington Post, Winnett quickly introduced Ford to lawyers, discussed obtaining an untraceable cell phone for future communications and reassured Ford that the “remarkable omertà” of British journalism would keep his undercover operations from coming to light.
…
Winnett is now poised to take over as top editor of The Washington Post’s main editorial board, expected to take up the role after the U.S. presidential election in November. He was appointed by The Post’s CEO and Publisher William Lewis, who has been Winnett’s mentor and worked with him at two British newspapers. Lewis also features in Ford’s article.
