Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday spoke out about NBC News’ decision to drop former Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel from the network following complaints from on-air talent.
“Oh! Ronna McDaniel was fired by Fake News NBC. She only had two days to live and that was after McDaniel went out of her way to say what they wanted to hear,” said the 77-year-old would-be Republican candidate. writes: society of truth.
President Trump later suggested that McDaniel may now be in a kind of political purgatory after he left NBC News and resigned from the RNC following mounting criticism of his leadership. It seems like it is.
“She’s being thrown into a very strange place, a place called ‘Never Neverland,'” Trump said, adding, “It’s not a place you want to be.”
NBCUniversal Chairman Cesar Conde said Tuesday that several of the network’s stars, including MSNBC hosts Rachel Maddow, Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski and former “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd, McDaniel’s paid guest appearances on TV were discontinued after public backlash against his inclusion.
“After hearing your many valid concerns, I have decided that Ronna McDaniel will no longer be a contributor to NBC News,” Conde wrote in a memo to employees.
Trump slammed the network for firing McDaniel.
“These radical left lunatics are crazy and the people at the top of NBC are weak,” he wrote on his social media platform. “They were hurt and embarrassed by the low ratings, high pay, and ‘talent.'”
“Let’s take back free and fair reporting – let’s make America great again in 2024!”
Pac News reports that McDaniel, 50, is seeking to hire a lawyer following his firing.
President Trump has called McDaniel a “friend” in the past and praised her for helping him win Michigan in the 2016 presidential election against Hillary Clinton.
But President Trump suggested in the weeks leading up to McDaniel’s resignation that it was time for change at the RNC.
She was replaced by Trump-supporting North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Michael Whatley, who was elected RNC chairman earlier this month.
President Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, was selected as co-chair.
