Trump says he overpowered an older Arnold Palmer in golf and reveals how golfers reacted to Palmer in shower

Former President Trump played his match against golf legend Arnold Palmer, and claims he had a significant age advantage.

President Trump spoke Saturday at a Pennsylvania rally at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in the golfer's hometown of Latrobe, explaining why his game was physically better than Palmer's in that round 12 years ago. Explained.

“I met him when he was 69. I played with him quite a bit, and we played together a lot,” said Trump, 78, who is 17 years younger than Palmer. “And as he gets older, you know, as you get older, you start to lose distance. And I'm a good golfer, I'm not, but I'm a good golfer.

“And I felt really good because I was hitting it a little bit longer than Arnold. But he was 75, 76 years old at this point, so I was hitting him four or five yards out.

“I said, 'Arnold, let me ask you this: Thirty years ago, 40 years ago, was I older than you?'” Trump said.

Trump's comments about the golf legend didn't stop there. President Trump also addressed the former golfer's masculinity and how other players reacted to Palmer in the shower.

“He was a complete human being,” Trump said of Palmer. “This guy was so strong and tough that I refused to say it, but when he took a shower with other pros, they came out of there. I said, “Oh my God, I can't believe it.'' I had to say it.

“I had to tell you the shower part because it's true.”

Mr. Palmer was born in Latrobe in 1929 and died in neighboring Pittsburgh in September 2016, just a month and a half before Mr. Trump won the presidential election. Pennsylvania was a key battleground state in President Trump's victory.

Palmer is known as the “King” of golf and is recognized as one of the most influential people in the game.

During Saturday's rally, Trump recalled stories of Palmer's wealth as a fellow business tycoon.

“Arnold was a very wealthy man,” Trump said, recounting how the former golfer helped fund various businesses.

Former Steelers stars Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell also appeared at Trump's event.

Brown spoke on Trump's behalf and mocked Trump's opponents, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

“Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, did you really know they wanted to leave tampons in the men's room?” Brown asked the crowd. “That’s really insane, isn’t it?”

The July poll, conducted just after President Biden left office and endorsed Harris but before Harris was nominated, stalled at 49%. However, even in March, when Biden was the presumptive nominee, the race was nearly even.

Since July, Harris has widened her lead among women (9 points), nonwhite voters (+8) and voters under 30 (+17). Her support remains steady among college graduates and urban voters. 92% of Harris supporters are sure of their vote, compared to 86% of Trump supporters.

The groups most loyal to President Trump include men, whites without a college degree, independents, and rural voters. He has nearly doubled his lead among men and a small number of independents since July.
