Trump says he was ‘shot with a bullet’ in assassination attempt at Pennsylvania rally

Former President Trump confirmed that he was shot with a “penetrating” bullet above his right ear during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.

Gunfire broke out at the rally shortly after former President Trump began his speech. Butler Farm Show basis.

According to Fox News sources, the attack on the former president is being investigated as an assassination attempt.

Trump released the statement on his Truth Social account on Saturday night.

“I want to thank the United States Secret Service and all of law enforcement for their swift response to the shooting that occurred in Butler, Pennsylvania,” Trump said. “Most importantly, I want to express my condolences to the family of the individual who died at the rally and the family of the other individual who was seriously injured. I cannot believe something like this could happen in our country.”

“At this point, we don’t know anything about the shooter. The shooter is now deceased,” Trump said.

“The bullet went through the top of my right ear,” the former president said. “I heard a whoosh and a gunshot and felt the bullet cut through my skin, so I knew right away something was wrong.”

The former president added, “I knew then what was going on because there was a lot of bleeding.”

“God bless America!” he said.

Trump was hurried off the stage by Secret Service agents after a bullet reportedly pierced his ear.

As he was led away, blood flowing from his cheek and right ear, the former president and leading Republican candidate held up his hands in defiance.

As security guards helped Trump to his feet and hurried him off the stage, he could be heard telling them: “Let me get my shoes.”

Shortly after Trump was hurriedly removed from the stage, Trump campaign communications director Steven Chang said the former president was “doing fine.”

“President Trump Thank you to law enforcement “We thank the emergency responders who acted quickly during this heinous act,” Chan told Fox News Digital. “He is doing well and is being examined at a local medical facility.”

Anthony Gourimi, director of public affairs for the U.S. Secret Service, issued a statement Saturday night.

“At approximately 6:15 p.m. on July 13th at a campaign rally for former President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, a suspected gunman fired multiple shots at the stage from an elevated location outside the rally venue,” he said. “U.S. Secret Service agents neutralized the shooter, who is now deceased. U.S. Secret Service personnel swiftly took protective measures and the former president is safe and undergoing medical examination. One audience member was killed and two seriously injured. The incident is currently under investigation, and the Secret Service has formally notified the Federal Bureau of Investigation of its investigation.”

President Biden responded on Saturday evening, saying he had been briefed on the incident and was “praying for him and his family.”

“We have received reports of a shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania. I am pleased to hear that Mr. Trump is safe and in good health. As we await more information, I am praying for Mr. Trump, his family and all who were at the rally,” Biden said.

Biden added that there is “no room for this kind of violence in America.”

“Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety,” he said. “This kind of violence has no place in America, and we must come together as one nation to condemn it.”
